If you or someone you care about has been disabled by an accident, injury or disease, the rehabilitation center at Lancashire Hall is here to help. Our partnership with Functional Pathways is an integral part of the care we provide. Specialized, skilled training enables our therapists to care for residents with complex diagnoses, helping them to overcome deficits that result from stroke, illness, disease, disability, injury, surgery or the aging process. The resident and family are at the core of our treatment team, and we involve them in every step of the journey toward optimal life functioning.
Speech Therapy Services
Speech therapy provides specialized services that enhance an individual's ability to communicate or swallow safely and also helps to restore function affected by stroke, brain damage, dementia, oral cancer, Parkinson’s disease, and other debilitating diseases. Attleboro Nursing & Rehabilitation Center now has a speech pathologist certified in DPNS (Deep Pharyngeal Neuromuscular Stimulation) and FMEP (Facial Muscle Exercise Program). DPNS is a systemized therapeutic program that restores the pharyngeal reflexes for efficient swallow function. FMEP involves e-stim to facial muscles for improved oral muscle function.Occupational Therapy Services
The goal of occupational therapy is to rebuild and restore the skills needed in self-care and daily routines in order to maximize independence. The focus is on everyday functional skills – eating, dressing, bathing, hygiene and feeding. Our residents are provided with individually designed treatment programs of exercise and activity to increase coordination, strengthen arms, hands and fingers, and improve sensation, cognitive and perceptual skills and physical endurance.
Physical Therapy Services
The goal of physical therapy is to return the resident to optimal functioning and maximal mobility. Treatment programs are tailored to meet the individual needs of each patient. Programs include exercises to increase muscle strength and improve joint range of motion. Team members work together to help each resident achieve maximum strength and self-reliance.
Respiratory Therapy Services
We are pleased to offer a new Pulmonary Rehab Program at our facility. In an effort to improve the care provided to residents with pulmonary disease, we have added the services of a consulting pulmonologist to oversee the program and a respiratory therapist to provide daily treatments and monitor patient's progress. Some of the goals of respiratory therapy are to reduce pulmonary symptoms and help optimize the resident's functional status. We are also now able to accommodate patients with new and stable tracheostomy's.Outpatient Services
Our rehabilitation services are also offered on an outpatient basis. Outpatient services are appropriate for those individuals who require follow-up after an inpatient rehabilitation program. With a physician referral, individuals can be seen for any of the rehabilitative therapies. Individuals referred for outpatient rehabilitation receive a thorough evaluation. The results of the evaluation and the goals set for after recovery are used to develop an individualized therapy program. Progress is reviewed and the treatment plan updated on a monthly basis
